The Garden Route offers a wealth of sporting, sightseeing and holiday experiences ideal for first time holiday makers as well as regular visitors to this area. Besides the attractions in MosselBay, Groot Brak and Klein Brak areas, there are a number of atractions that we recommend:
Situated in the heart of the Garden Route, you will find a beautiful piece of land that will stir your senses. Set on 11,000-hectares, Gondwana Game Reserve holds the distinction of being the only Fynbos reserve in the world with free roaming Big Five game as well as endangered species like the Cape Mountain Zebra, Black Rhinoceros, and Black Harrier among many others. Its breathtaking beauty will sooth and delight you with its endless mountain views and green rolling hills blanketed in colourful fynbos.
The reserve is accessibly situated 25 minutes outside the charming coastal town of Mossel Bay and a mere 4 hours drive from Cape Town. It shares the areas´ idyllic climate, second most moderate in the world, and is Malaria-free, offering prime year round game viewing.
Day visitors can also book morning or evening drives with or without a bush meal (brunch or dinner), snacks and drinks included.
Situated between the magnificent Outeniqua Mountains and unspoiled beaches of the Indian Ocean, Botlierskop Private Game Reserve ensures its visitors of a unique safari experience. It is situated on the world renowned Garden Route. Easily located just off the N2 and an easy 30 minutes drive from George Airport or a 4-hour scenic drive from Cape Town, the Mother City of South Africa.
Botlierskop is named after one of the spectacular rock formations on the reserve. The odd shaped "koppie" is a landmark in this area.
29km from Oudtshoorn, at the head of the picturesque Cango Valley, lies the spectacular underground wonder of the Klein Karoo - the Cango Caves. The Mediterranean style seaside town of Mossel Bay is situated on a spectacular sun washed peninsular embraced by the Indian Ocean.
The Guinness Book of Records features the town as having the mildest year round climate in the world, second only to Hawaii. Mossel Bay is a very rich area with its abundant sea life of diverse fish, seals, whales, penguins and other sea birds, dolphins, the occasional orca and of course a plentiful supply of the Great White shark.
The Tsitsikamma Canopy Tour® takes place in the magnificent Tsitsikamma indigenous rainforest. Many of the platforms are built around giant Outeniqua Yellowwood trees that are up to 700 years old! Standing within the crown of these giants and looking down at the lush forest floor thirty metres below is an experience of a lifetime.
The scenery and birdlif is spectacular and professional guides ensure your safety while keeping you informed about interesting features of the forest ecology. If you are fortunate enough, you will spot a pair of Knysna Loeries or the brilliant red plumage of the elusive Narina Trogon. Whatever happens, we’re quite sure you’ll be back again!
Tsitsikamma - the name means 'Place of Clear Water' - is the last bit of indigenous forest that once carpeted the whole coastline.
The Tsitsikamma National Park protects the area and is one of the most magical places in the region. The park stretches along 68 dramatic kilometres of South Africa's east coast, where the surging waves crash over rocky coastline and old hardwood forests knot the coastal cliffs.
The highlight of the Tsitsikamma National Park is the Storms River Mouth, a large and abrupt estuary over which a precarious rope-bridge is slung.
